A must-visit — but go in with open eyes The Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac is one of Paris's most striking cultural spaces, and honestly, one I'd urge everyone to experience. The architecture alone is jaw-dropping, and the sheer breadth and beauty of the collection — spanning Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas — is breathtaking. That said, let's be honest about what we're looking at: the vast majority of these objects were taken — through colonization, coercion, and extraction — from the communities that created them. Walking through these halls is a powerful experience precisely because you hold that history alongside the beauty. Don't let the sleek design lull you into forgetting it. On the practical side: the temporary exhibitions are included in the regular entry ticket, which is a genuinely great deal and not to be missed. The store is a treasure trove of carefully curated pieces that are far more thoughtful than your average museum shop. And the café? Fantastic food — a real surprise. Come curious, come critical, and come hungry. Five stars — with full awareness of what those stars carry.
