Welcome to Nuremberg!
During its more than a thousand years of history, Nuremberg has often been the center of important historical events. Today we are pleased to introduce you to this old town surrounded by a red city wall.
Your path starts at the Königstraße at the Frauentorturm. There you will find blacksmiths, belt cutters, glass grinders, potters, wax model makers, jewelers, glass artists, doll makers, and many more guilds.
The city is famous for its architecture, two magnificent cathedrals, the imperial fortress, and its countless half-timbered houses. See the Frauenkirche, the imperial chapel where the Emperor's eldest son Charles IV was baptized. Visit Lorenzkirche – a monumental building with two 81-meter-high towers, and enjoy the Fembo House – one of the most fascinating architectural pieces in the city.
The city is also home to the German National Museum, which presents many well-known works of German art, such as works by Albrecht Dürer, born here in Nuremberg. Learn more about this place with this self-guided audio tour.
So, now enough of the words, it's time to hit the road!
